D&SLRR Tall Clear Etched Globe Lantern

(Item: 1612)

Sorry, this item is SOLD!!!

Denver & Salt Lake Railroad (D&SLRR) Tall Globe Lantern

This rare and unique railroad lantern from Denver & Salt Lake Ry has an extended base 5 3/8" clear etched D&SLRy globe. It has very few minor rim flakes on the lower edge, which are usual from use. The frame is an Adams & Westlake "Adlake Reliable". The bell bottom single wire guard frame is 10 1/4" tall, 6" in diameter at the base. It is embossed "D&SLRR". The first patent date is 5/5/1908, the last patent date is 4/1/1919. The frame & globe is a marriage. It has been cleaned, and the drop in pot has a new wick. This is one for the truly serious collector of railroadiana. You just don't see these in pristine condition all the time, and they are becoming harder to find!
