D&RGW RR Adlake Kero 250 Lantern w/ Red Etched "D&RGW RR" Short Globe
A very nice Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad lantern that has lots of tin! The frame stands 9 1/4" tall without the bail, and has been cleaned of oil & dirt, then hand polished. It is in excellent condition with lots of original tin. The frames fount holder does have a couple of dings near the bottom is embossed on the top lid "D&RGWRR, Adlake Kero 250, The Adams & Westlake Company, New York, Chicago & Phila.", with the last embossed patent date of "1923. The 3 1/4" tall red globe is etched "D&RGWRR" on one side, and "Safety First" on the other side. It is embossed with the Corning "Cnx" logo, and "Adlake Kero" on the other side. The globe is in excellent condition with a few minor outside rim flakes or chips that can not be seen when in the frame. The lantern comes with the correct Adlake #250 fount & burner that is in excellent condition and will still hold oil and burn. A very fine Colorado Railroad piece ready to light up your collection!
