Circa 1895 Golden Oak Lift-Top Dressing Table w/Mirror
A unique furniture piece that is functional, as well as attractive! This golden oak lift-top dressing table has a colorful history, we’re sure. It was manufactured by the St. Peter Furniture Company, St. Peter, Minnesota, as is indicated by a large blue ink stenciled label on the underside of the drawer. The dressing table has been restored and refinished due to years of use. The table is rectangular, with a joined 5 board top, reeded and turned legs ending in ball feet & a concave under shelf with oak applied beading. The beading also frames the large drawer. The hardware is original, and in good condition. The brass pulls on the drawer are round, with a pierced design. The original mirror has been replaced, but it is included with the dressing table, just in case the new owner would like to use it The velvet lining has been replaced. It is burgundy crushed velvet-very rich. There are 3 dark spots under the finish on the lid, and 4 on the under shelf. These are most likely from spilled kerosene. They are not detrimental, and only add to the charm of this piece. Dimensions of the dressing table are; 28 ¾” tall, 28” wide, and 20” deep. A fun and functional Antiques furniture piece for you boudoir!
