1890’s Dark Oak Sideboard w/3 Mirrors & Candleholder Shelves
This is a beautiful dark oak sideboard, circa 1890’s. Lots of applied carving, and original mirrors. The photos of this piece are before restoration. There are three upper drawers for silverware storage, a middle drawer for linens, and 2 doors below for china storage. Some minor veneer repairs are needed on the edges of the two lower doors, new hardware is needed on the lower doors, and it needs to be refinished, as the present finish is in fair condition. There are a few small applied carving pieces missing in spots that need to be added back on. The mirrors could be replaced, but usually we leave that to our clients, some of whom prefer the age marks. Two small side mirrors are behind the candle holder shelves. The top shelf supports are scrolled in shape, with applied carving. The back supports for the top to base attachment are the original steel, especially shaped for this heavy top. The overall height of this piece when together is 76 ½” tall. The top section alone is 40” tall, 56 ½” wide, and 14” deep. The bottom section is 36 ½” tall, 24 ¾” deep, 53 ¼” wide. The large mirrors dimensions are; 29 ¼” wide and 23 ¼” tall. This sideboard will be stunning when fully restored, and will be a conversation piece in any formal dining room!
