1870’s Eastlake Style Walnut 2 Door Bookcase w/2 Drawer Base & Gallery Top
This magnificent bookcase is sure to be a show stopper in any home it graces! It is complete and beautiful. The finish is original and has just been cleaned well and hand polished. The bookcase seperates into three parts for moving. The Eastlake style bookcase is solid walnut, with double glass doors. The glass doors are all original, with a few bubbles and waves. The trim is all spoon carved, with burled walnut panels on the drawer fronts and edge panels on each side of the doors. The gallery style crown is pierce-carved in a diamond pattern, with a leaf and berry design center panel. The base has two drawers with metal casters. There are five shelves, which are adjustable. The bookcase is in superb condition, with a few small repairs made. The hardware is all original as well as the locks on the doors and drawers. There is a key which works all three locks. The dimensions of this stately piece are; 7' 9 1/2" tall, 50 1/2" wide, and 18 3/4" deep. Just imagine this lovely bookcase in your library!
