Colorado & Southern Railway hat badges in serif letters are very hard to find these days. This is a rectangular nickel finished brakeman hat badge. Many Colorado railroad hat badges were usually made by Denver Novelty Company. This badge is not factory hallmarked. It is inlaid on the front in black enameled serif letters “Brakeman, C&SRy”. It does have some scratch marks around each hole. On the back side it shows solder marks around each hole where the hat badge was attached to the hat. It is 3 9/16” long, and 7/8” wide. This is a fine Colorado & Southern Railway collectible… one to proudly display with your railroadiana collection!
