Colorado & Southern Railway 1 Gallon Tin Kerosene Can

(Item: 4624C)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

Colorado & Southern Railway 1 Gallon Tin Kerosene Can

A great Colorado & Southern collectible, in well used condition. This one gallon tin kerosene can is embossed “C&SRW” on the side in ¾" inch tall lettering. The can shows all over wear from age and use. The can has original patina, except the lettering, which has been lightly scuffed by someone to highlight the lettering on the “C&S.” The can has no rust holes. There are two handles, one on the top, and one on the back side of the can. The can has two solder repairs, one on the left of the top handle, and one on the base of the spout. The repairs appear to be old. The fill cap is original to the can. The spout is bent horizontally, and appears to be deliberate. Probably easier to pour the kerosene. The manufactures mark, “Fred Young, Maker, Chicago, Ill.” is stamped near the fill cap on the top of the can. Dimensions of the can are; 8 ¼” tall and 7 1/8” diameter. A special collectible from the Colorado & Southern Railway!
