1920's Nickel Plate Kerosene Lamp w/Ruby Quilted Shade
A really nice 1920's period lamp, a recent acquisition from a local estate. It is nickel over brass, worn slightly below the fount to the brass from handling over the years, still in excellent condition. The base is pierced and embossed. The fill cap is brass, embossed with a snowflake pattern. The tripod supporting the shade is in very good condition, as is the burner. The wick raiser is marked "Made In U.S. of America". The flame spreader is an older replacement. It is marked " Patented Sep. 9, 90", and "Apr. 11, 93". The ruby quilted shade is original to the lamp. It is a dark, rich ruby, with no chips or cracks. The lower rim is slightly rough-smooth to the touch. It may be old Fenton. Dimensions of the lamp are: 20 1/2" tall with chimney, and the shade is 9 1/2" in diameter, and 6 1/2" tall. It would make a lovely cabin lamp, for those who like to be off the grid!
