1916 Squirrel Nut Cracker & Walnut Bowl
A very elegant and attractive reminder of holidays past. This squirrel nutcracker and bowl are in excellent original condition. The elaborate cast metal cracker features a squirrel earing an acorn, on the branch of an oak tree, with oak leaf embellishment. The tail of the squirrel is the cracker, attached to the rim of the bowl by 2 flathead screws. The finish of the of the bowl is original. There is a thin strip along the lower edge of the bowl that has slight finish checkering from age, about 4". The bowl is turned, which appears to be walnut, with a glued on felt base. The nutcracker is embossed "pat. apld. for 1916" under the squirrel's tail. The bowl is 8 3/8" in diameter, and is 7" tall with the handle of the cracker in place. A very special collectible, ready to add to your collection!
