1860's White Opalescent Coin Dot Oil Lamp w/Swirl Fount & Period Ruffled Chimney
A very desirable and collectible early oil lamp. The lamp has an opalescent coin dot fount with a wafer applied clear swirl foot. The foot is slightly purpled. It has a rare marked Taplin-Brown brass collar, with a period P&A burner. The crimp top glass chimney is period, not reproduction, and is 8 1/2" tall. It does have one small rim chip at the bottom. The lamp is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The dimensions of the oil lamp are; 19 1/2" tall, and base diameter is 5". A similar lamp in blue is pictured in Catherine Thuro's "Oil Lamps II" book. This lamp is in fabulous condition, and ready to be added to a new collection!
