1935 D&RGWRR Green Etched Adlake-Kero Lantern
This is about the nicest Denver & Rio Gande Western Railroad lantern we can offer you from the Great Depression era. The frame has all original tin and is very straight; you will be pround to display this lantern. The lantern comes with a 3 1/4" tall rich green Corning Glass Company globe that is in near-mint condition. It is embossed on one side with the Corning logo "Cnx", and is etched "Saftey First", below that. On the other side, it is embossed "Adlake-Kero", and etched "D&RGW", below that. The top and bottom rims are in excellent condition; each rim has only one minute inside 1/16" flake found. These are very minor, but must be mentioned for accuracy. The top lid of the frame is 100% tin and is embossed " The Adams and Westlake Co., D&RGW." The bottom of the frame on the fount holder is embossed "Adlake-Kero, 2-35" (for the second quarter of 1935.) There are a few very minor dimples on the bottom. The lantern comes with an " Adlake Kero 300" fount and burner that are all tin and will still burn oil. The lantern is 9 3/8" tall, without the bail. It has only been cleaned of oil and dirt. Denver & Rio Grande Western fans certainly will appreciate this one!
