Set-2, 1860's Atterbury & Co. Cranberry Cut to Clear Matching Oil Lamps
It is very unusual to find oil lamps this old still together! This elegant set of two oil lamps are very fine examples of early 1860's Atterbury & Company lighting. The oil lamps are both in wonderful condition, no chips or cracks. The pear shaped founts are cranberry, finely cut to clear in a floral and grape cluster pattern. The stems and collars are brass, and both have 5" square marble bases. There are a few small edge chips from age and use on the marble bases. The brass stems and connectors have nice dark patina. The Scovill Mfg. Co. burners are both #2 Queen Anne style, old replacements. The chimneys are both 14" tall, with 2 1/2" dia. fitters. They are newer. The lamps are 28" tall with the chimneys in place, The lamps are banquet or monolithic size. These very beautiful lamps will be stunning to display in your collection!
