D&RGRR Handlan-Buck Railroad Lantern
An excellent example of early railroading in Colorado. This very fine Denver & Rio Grande railroad lantern is 10" tall without the bail, and was made by the Handlan-Buck Mfg. Co., St Louis. The clear cast mellon style globe is marked "D&RG" on one side, and "Safety First" on the other side. Height of the globe is 5 3/8". The globe has two very minor factory air bubbles, and the usual minor rim flea bites, or flakes....but only on the bottom. These will not show in the frame. The top rim is perfect. The single wire guard frame is in excellent condition with only a few dings on the top (see picture), and has the original drop in pot. It has been cleaned and clear coated. A hard to find lantern for a discriminating collector of Colorado railroads!
