Cylinder Applewood Baker's Cupboard

Unique baker's cupboard made from applewood. It has been professionally refinished at one time. This baker's cupboard pre-dates the Hoosier type cabinet by several years. It belonged to an antique dealer from Kansas, and was in her estate. It has a wood possum belly flour bin. To make the curved possum belly shape, the bottom of the drawer was made of a thin sheet of wood. Since flour was very heavy, they would normally split or break. This one is in excellent shape (see picture), as is the entire cabinet. The work surface had to have the zinc removed many years ago (possibly in the 20's), as zinc is toxic. The cutting board has been replaced. It has a tin lined bread box. The wire shelf inside the left bottom door is missing, and the original front top latches are for decoration. Someone added newer snap closures inside the top doors. Dimensions are 72 1/2" tall, 42 7/8" wide, 25 3/4" deep. Altogether, a wonderful and useful cabinet!
