Amber Block Pattern Victorian Pickle Castor

A very attractive pickle castor in excellent original condition. This pickle castor was manufactured by the American Silverplate Company. It is triple plate, and numbered "135", and marked on the bottom of the frame. To our knowledge, it has not been re-plated. The insert is amber glass in a block pattern. The insert is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, or flea bites. There is very slight wear on the base from use. The insert fits the frame snugly, and the lid fits the insert perfectly. The tongs have bird claw tips, with a tiny medallion scene on each side of birds. The base of the frame has a scroll and flower design on each side and at the top of the frame. The insert lid matches. The dimensions of the frame are; 11" tall and 4 ½" wide. The insert is 3 1/8"in diameter, and 4 1/4" tall. A lovely addition to your holiday table, ...or any place you need a special touch!
