Rio Grande Western Railway Soup Tureen

A very special offering for those who appreciate the scarcity of R.G.W.Ry items these days! This beautiful silverplate soup tureen was produced by Reed & Barton. It has a lid but no soup spoon. It has double handles and a beautiful leaf and shell border around the upper rim. The plating is in excellent condition, with some surface marks due to age and usage, but it does not need to be plated....it is perfect just as it is! It is bottom stamped with the Rio Grande Western Railway diamond logo, and "Great Salt Lake Route;" it is also marked "Reed & Barton Silver Soldered, #1344, 1." The dimensions of the soup tureen are: 6 3/4" wide with handles, 4 3/4" in diameter, and 3 3/4" tall. If you have made yourself a promise to only buy rare railroad items....this one is for you!
