(Item: 3785J)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad 1913 A&W Lantern

A very hard to find & rare Colorado railroad lantern that is sure to please the discriminating collector. This Adams & Westlake Co. , Adlake Reliable has a lot of original tin with just the right amount of surface patina on the lid. The frame has been cleaned of oil & soot, then hand polished. The last patent date on the lid is April 1st, 1913. Stamped on the outside of lid is the number "438." The lantern comes with an Adlake pot & burner that is in near mint condition. The pot is embossed on the top "Adlake, Adams & Westlake Co., New York, Chicago, Phila." with the last patent date of April 1st, 1913. The burner is marked "Adlake, Pat. Apr. 27, 1909." The dark ruby red 5 3/8" tall extended base globe is unmarked, but it is old with factory bubbles which give it character. There are a few minor inside rim flakes on the top & bottom. The F&CCRR operated from 1892 to 1917, and ran from Florence, through Phantom Canyon, to Cripple Creek, Colorado. A small narrow gauge railroad, known as "the Gold Belt Line," with but 42 miles of track, yet it is very rich in Colorado railroad history & heritage!
