D&RGW Railroad 1920's Lounge Car Table Lamp

(Item: 3462C)

Sorry, This Is SOLD!!!

D&RGW Railroad 1920's Marked Brass Lounge Car Table Lamp

We have recently acquired a beautiful brass Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad lamp, used during the 1920's on their lounge observation cars. It is cast "D&RGW" on the underside of the base of this lamp. It is very large, 18" tall with shade, and the base is 9" square. It is urn-shaped, with a mold relief band around the center. It is solid brass and weighs 22 pounds!! It is electric, with a base switch, and has a brass cage that surrounds the light bulb. We have an older wheat colored burlap shade with gold edging on the lamp, which seems to suit it very well. The brass shade finial is a newer replacement. This lamp came to us from a Midwest estate. It is a hard to find & rare lamp and could be used in almost any room in a home especially a "railroad" room!

Please be patient for five larger pictures to download!
