Rio Grande Western Railway Silverplate Bread Tray
This beautiful and harder to find bread tray was produced by Reed & Barton, as were many silverplate dining car service items. It is in excellent condition, and has just been polished. It is oval in shape, with a shell and foliage border. It is back marked with the RGW diamond logo, and "Reed & Barton, Silver Soldered, #1614." There are some wear marks from age, but no serious dents or scratches. Dimensions of the bread tray are; 13 ½" long, and 6 1/8" wide. This would be a lovely serving piece for your table, ... even if you don't happen to be a serious railroad buff!
