1900's General Store Hanging Lamp w/ Milkglass Shade

(Item: 4099N)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

Circa 1910-20 General Store Hanging Lamp with Milk glass Shade

This is a large, rustic, and very attractive hanging lamp. It is very suitable for a country home or log cabin in the mountains! It's size lends itself to a room with higher ceilings, as many homes have today. It has a metal frame with a brass band to support the nickel plate fount. The ring has a thumb latch to help clamp the fount in. The fount has an embossed pillar design around it. The wick adjuster is on the lower edge of the fount. The lamp has a central draft system with a flame spreader. The fill cap has a flower design. On the wick raiser it says "MADE IN USA." We can not find a markers mark, but the lamp style is similar to a "Juno." The chimney and milk glass shade are in excellent condition, with only a few tiny flea bites on the inner edge of the shade where it rests on the frame supports. This is just from age and use. We usually see metal or tin shades on these lamps, so the milk glass shade is a pleasant change. The lamp is still kerosene, but we have included an electrical kit that can be easily removed and returned back to kerosene in minutes. Dimensions for the lamp are; 31 1/4" tall, and 17" wide. The chimney is 12" tall with a 4" filter. The shade is 17" in diameter. A fun lamp guaranteed to give your home the ambiance you've been searching for!
