Victorian Brass/Copper Ornate Hanging Parlor Lamp w/Cranberry Hobnail Shade
If ornate and colorful is what your home needs, this lovely lamp is for you! This all original Victorian hanging parlor lamp is in excellent condition. The frame is a combination of copper and brass. The front holder and shade ring are copper, and the rest of the lamp is brass. All parts are present and work properly. The patina on the lamp frame is original and unpolished. The winder is a unique copper band system that pulls down, original to the lamp. There are two tubes extending down from the ceiling cap which hold a cross bar embellished with an owl. The support chains are twisted brass. There are 30 square cut colored prisms in ruby, amber, green, blue, and amethyst. They are original and old, not replacements; a few of them have some very minute chips. The original burner is present and is stamped, "The Grand Burner, M.B. Co., N.Y." on the wick raiser. We have electrified this lamp with a kit, but it can be removed in a matter of minutes if you wish to use lamp oil instead. The original dark cranberry 14" diameter hobnail shade is in perfect condition, no chips, cracks or flea bites, just two or three factory air bubbles in the glass. The top and bottom rims of the shade are smooth, double fired. Dimensions of the hanging lamp are: 36 ½" long and 17" wide at the widest point of the frame. This cheerfully colored and unique lamp is sure to brighten any home!
