1890's General Store Counter Top Candy Jar
This is a great piece for those who collect general store and advertising items. This tall cylindrical candy jar has a wide footed base and a rolled lip; there is a swirl in the collar, base and lid. The lid is original to the candy jar. There is one tiny flea bite (edge flake) on the base of the lid and a tiny flake on the tip of the lid. There is one 1/4" edge chip on the base lip and one tiny flea bite next to it. Considering the use these pieces received over the years, this is in very good condition. The candy jar is 16" tall with the lid, and the cylinder is 3 1/4" in diameter. This general store candy jar is pictured in the 2005 Antique Trader book and is valued at $1,300.00. A fine piece to add to your general store collection . . . and, no, you don't get the yucky old candy!
