1850-60's Fixed Globe Railroad Lantern

(Item: 2052)

Sorry, This Item Is SOLD!!!

Civil War Era Diamond & Star Fixed Globe Railroad Lantern

This is a very old and quite unique lantern from the 1850-60's (Civil War era). It has a fixed globe, with wrist bale, and a double brass top featuring a cut out diamond & star pattern. The "pinch pot" or burner is there and complete, but the lever on one side of the pot needs to be resoldered. There are no chips in the globe, just a few imperfections in the glass to assure that it is old. The dimensions are 12 1/4" tall, with a 5 5/8" diameter base. The globe is 6 5/8" tall and 4 3/4" in diameter. We almost never see a lantern this old in a condition this great! Would be a great piece for any Civil War or railroad collector to own!
