Reverse Painted Table Lamp w/ Palm Tree & Sailing Ship Scene
At one time, homes across the country popularized reverse painted lamps. They were manufactured in the 1920's by several large companies including Miller, Pittsburgh, Jeanette, Pairpoint and Moe Bridges. This is a very nice reverse painted table lamp with a palm tree and sailing ship scenic design. We attribute this lamp to Pittsburgh Lamp Company. The base is a brass and silver wash combination, in an urn shape with a feather, wreath & swag design. There are 3 light sockets with pull chains. The lamp does not appear to be re-wired, but one socket is shinier than the other two, but all are marked "Bryant". The urn shaped base shows some wear from age to the brass and silver in spots. The shade is in near mint condition with no chips, cracks, or flaking of the paint. Otherwise it is in perfect condition. The shade is 16" in diameter, and 7 1/4" tall. The paint is in soft blues, greens, browns, tans & yellows. The base is 23 3/4" tall with the finial, and is 8" in diameter at the bottom. It would make any corner in your home a little cozier!
