1890's Chuck Wagon/ Portable Calender Clock Safe, Pantry
If you are a collector of the unique and unusual, this calender clock safe should certainly appeal to you! This black painted tin chuck wagon pantry probably has traveled a lot in it's time! The front is tole painted with a flowers & vines design, and the words "Calender Clock Safe". The tole painting is all original, in very good condition, and has not been touched up. The central piece is a small wind-up clock, made by New Haven, and marked "Calender Clock Safe, Kansas City, Mo." on the face. It is a calender/time clock. It does not currently run, and we have not tried to fix it. (We'll leave that to a clock repairman!) The top of the safe opens to store flour & sugar. There are 6 screw top spice cans that fit into the front. The lower portion opens to store other items. There is a coffee grinder with a red wood handle and a pull out drawer on the right side, as well as a small hanging scale. There are also 7 accessories- 2 large sifter/scoops, 2 small scoops, 1 grater, and 2 bin dividers. The calender clock safe is in excellent original condition, we only vacuumed it out! Dimensions of this great collectable are; 3" tall, 11 ½" deep, and 26 1/4" wide. This would be a great finishing touch to your general store collection.
