19th Century Copper Black Powder Flask w/ Brass Closure
An early black powder flask in excellent condition. It is copper, with original patina. It is a flattened bulbous shape, with a ribbed pattern. The top edge is scrolled. The collar and closure are brass. The thumb pressure latch opens and closes the top opening well. The brass closure has three adjustment notches on the side for small to large loads of powder. There is a very old smooth 2 3/4" seam weld at the base of the powder flask. Two round rings attached to the sides are for the leather strap, which is old and some what knotted.. Dimensions of this fine old hunting accessory are; 8" long, 3 ½" wide at the bulbous base, and 1 ½" thick. A beautiful and collectible piece, waiting for a new home!
