Rio Grande Western Railway Claredon Pattern Serving Spoon


This silver plate serving spoon was manufactured for the Rio Grade Western Railway by Reed & Barton, Taunton, Massachusetts. This silverplate serving spoon is in excellent condition, with very minor surface using marks. The silverplate is in excellent condition. The serving spoon is marked with the diamond logo on the back od the handle, and reads “The Rio Grade Western Railway, Great Salt Lake Route.” It is also marked “Reed & Barton - 12"”, and patent dated,” December 22. 1890.” Dimensions of the serving spoon are; 8 1/4" long, and the bowl of the bowl of the spoon is 1 5/8" wide. The RGW Railway Company was formed on May 16th, 1889, as a consolidation of the D&RGW Railway (the Utah Lines of the D&RG) and the State Line & Denver Railway, and it ran until 1908. An excellent flatware piece to add to your R.G.W Railway dining car collection!
