Van Bergh Pickle Castor w/Aqua Blue Insert

A very ornate and complete Victorian pickle castor with a beautiful aquamarine insert and original tongs. The pickle castor is marked on the base "Van Bergh Silverplate Co., Rochester, N.Y. USA", and the number C-11 (see picture). The insert is in a diamond with radiant pattern, no chips, cracks, or flakes. The frame has a scalloped base, with some very minor silver loss to the top edge of the base (see picture). There are hooks on both sides of the frame for the tongs. The ends of the tongs are scalloped. The lid features flower baskets and fits tightly to the insert (see picture). The dimensions are: frame is 10" tall, the insert is 3 1/8" in diameter and 3 7/8" tall. This pickle castor would be a beautiful addition to your collection!
