Durango & Silverton Railroad 1882-1982 Commemorative Souvenir Plate
This commemorative plate was produced by the National Railway Historical Society celebrating a century of narrow gauge steam train service on the Durango- Silverton line. This plate is one of 500 produced by the Sterling China Company, East Liverpool, Ohio. The plate design is an illustration from a William Henry Jackson photography taken shortly after the opening of the line in 1882. The plate is done in cream & rust, with gold pinstriping and lettering. The plate is in near- perfect condition, with only a tiny scratch on the "R" and "N" in Silverton, and a spot on the "T". The plate is 9"in diameter. A commemorative plate to enjoy for years to come!
